Holu Hou Energy (HHE), a provider of industry-leading solar storage solutions that reduce the energy burden for single-family residences, multi-dwelling unit properties, and businesses throughout Hawaii, announces its partnership with the Green Energy Money $aver (GEM$) Program through the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority (HGIA). As Hawaii’s Green Bank, HGIA helps communities bridge the gap and accelerate the transition to clean energy and reduce carbon footprints. HHE is now an approved contractor through HGIA, allowing customers to qualify for up to 100% financing through GEM$ that drastically reduces the upfront investment necessary to install an HHE system.
Rising costs and the increasing scarcity of loans and leases has put a damper on many potential purchases, from homes and cars to clean energy systems. It’s no small decision to install solar on your home or business, and HGIA’s GEM$ Program is designed to democratize access to clean energy with financing for projects through approved contractors. According to its website, “HGIA is an essential tool for the State of Hawaii to meet its 2045 climate goals, and to ensure no one is left behind in the transition to an environmentally friendly society–in terms of energy, financing, and more.” HHE’s status as a GEM$ approved contractor allows the company to assist in these goals by providing solar energy storage solutions that capture unused energy for use later, such as during a power outage, and reduce a property’s overall external energy draw.
Properties with HHE solar solutions through the GEM$ Program can expect a minimum of 20% cost reduction in their energy bill, as well as mitigated inflation increases of 0-2% per year. The program repayment charge is automatically added to the participant’s existing HECO bill rather than a secondary bill, and the repayment is broken down into installments over the course of the equipment’s expected lifespan. Interested participants can contact the GEM$ Program to begin the application process, or contact HHE for help navigating the GEM$ Program, DPP permitting, and HECO integration.
